Excellence in capillaroscopy

Dear Doctor,

As Organizing Secretariat we have the pleasure to announce you the new first high level course "EXCELLENCE IN CAPILLAROSCOPY - AN INTERACTIVE COURSE" that will be held in Genova from September 8th till 10th 2011.

The aim of this intensive and interactive full immersion course is to provide all participants with an update on the power of the safe-non invasive nailfold videocapillaroscopy (NV) either in the early diagnosis, predictive and prognostic value as well as therapeutic follow up of the scleroderma pattern diseases.

Participants must be already expert in videocapillaroscopy and rheumatic diseases and will be fully involved in interactive theoretical and practical capillaroscopic sessions involving a large number of rheumatic patients. Updated clinical sessions concerning the diagnostic/prognostic value of NV in diseases such as systemic sclerosis and the effects of the target therapies on microcirculation and immune-inflammation reaction will represent a stimulating gym based on clinical cases presentation and discussion.

In particular, reading and scoring of the videocapillaroscopic images of living patients will be discussed and their predictive value to identify possible clinical complications (i.e. digital ulcers in systemic sclerosis) will be analyzed and reported. Practical analysis of the peripheral blood flow by laser doppler will be available to be combined with the severity of the videocapillaroscopic living images.
At the end of this excellence course supported by the tutorial teaching of some of the world’s best experts on capillaroscopy and microcirculation, the participants will be able to use the videocapillaroscopy for their day-to-day staging and follow-up of patients with scleroderma pattern diseases (i.e. systemic sclerosis).

The number of participants is limited and the admission will be obtained following the first applications until the closed number limit achievement. Participants to the previous EULAR courses on capillaroscopy will be admitted with preference.

Thanking you very much for your attention, we remain at your disposal for any further need.

Deadline for registration: July 10th 2011*
*In relation to the high rate of requests, registration is suggested as soon as possible.
